Chaos Field Hockey Players Receive High Level Technical AND Tactical Training

Not only do our players receive top-notch technical skills training in each of our sessions, they also learn the tactics that make them better field hockey players. Technical skill, combined with tactical knowledge, sets players apart on the pitch and the court.

principles of training

Accelerated Learning

Stress, Specificity, and Style. Through the use of fun and dynamic training methods, our players work hard - and enjoy - our training sessions. Players develop skills quickly and efficiently in this way. Training sessions feature very little standing in lines or waiting to play - a ball is always at the stick and movement is constant.

Our training programs also feature specific technical and tactical skills training - taught, repeated and reinforced throughout the duration of the program - that build from basic to advanced skill sets.

Technical skills are developed through constant, specific training. We work hard on building our player's technical skills. At the same time, we encourage our players to develop their own sense of style on the pitch. We do this through the use of various free-play sessions and game simulations. By refining their own style while reinforcing technincal skills, our players gain confidence with and without the ball. They are no longer scared to take on defenders or play in tight spaces. And they have the confidence and ability to make smart plays when attacking or defending. The best players in the world are hailed for their hard work, skills and creativity - and our goal is to help our players be their best.

Stress, Specificity, and Style allow our players to develop their game at an accelerated pace.

Dynamic Training and Play
Indoor and Outdoor!

Chaos Field Hockey uses positive and dynamic training methods to create a fun learning environment and promote player development. Our goal is to instill a passion for the game that will last a lifetime. We challenge players at their individual ability level while building their confidence to aspire to higher levels of play. Our training sessions feature constant movement and interaction. Our players don't wait in lines - they are constantly moving and learning.

Indoor hockey is used as both a fun game by itself and an excellent training tool for the outdoor game. Statistically, players touch the ball 600% more in indoor play vs. the outdoor game. More touches leads to more skills developed faster.

Speed, Quickness and Agility

Our training programs - outdoor and indoor - are designed to help develop both a player's speed of skill and speed of thought on the pitch. When outdoor, we focus on a combination of phsical conditioning and constant play. The indoor game, by nature, is a fast game and we apply the principles of speed in all aspects of our training.

Speed and Quickness on the indoor court translate to the outdoor game by "slowing down" the game. We hear this from players at all skill levels - indoor training and game play simply make the outdoor game easier to play! The end result is a player development program that creates faster, moe thouhtful players.

The field hockey player is required to perform many sudden and explosive movements. These random movement patterns may include acceleration/deceleration sprints, running backwards, jumping, and cutting sharply inwards or outwards. Not all of these movements are naturally inherited though; and many players may be strong at some, but not all of these skills.

The Chaos training program and game play greatly enhance a player’s Speed, Agility and Quickness in all aspects of their game. These skills are instrumental in developing a player’s total game. We want our players exposed to as many different and challenging combinations of movement as possible. And with emphasis on high quality technique, and a good understanding of the mechanics of any particular movement pattern, players can dramatically improve.

The Most Important Principle: FUN!

Very simply: young players learn any skill faster when they are having fun. And field hockey is fun!

Dynamic training, conducted in a positive envirnoment, is fun. By training the Chaos Way, players get better naturally - becuase they are having fun!

Chaos Field Hockey was formed to provide high level training and coaching to youth field hockey players and to enable players to reach their highest potential as players and as young adults. Our focus is teaching players to play the game the right way; to have fun while learning and competing; and to prepare for the next steps in their playing career.
Our youngest athletes will focus on player development and skill acquisition. They will learn to play the game while having fun, being respected and developing a passion for the game. Our older players will be prepared to advance to the next level, whether that is making their high school team or entering the college ranks. They will be challenged through competition in high-level events and showcase tournaments.
Our positive coaching philosophy insures that all of our players will be treated with respect and have fun while learning; all while training in an environment that encourages athletes to learn and develop positive habits on and off the playing field.
Chaos Field Hockey is formed to operate exclusively as a non-profit educational program of competitive field hockey in accordance with the provisions of Section 501-(c)-(3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code.
